crispysnakes:

Groups like the HSUS are striving and, sadly, in some ways succeeding in removing the ability of constrictor keepers to maintain their boids.

In 2012 lobbyist groups against out hobby managed to convince the U.S. Government that Burmese Pythons, Southern and Northern African Rock Pythons as well as the Yellow Anaconda needed to be added to the Lacey Act largely, in part, because of the wild Burmese Python populations in the Everglades.

The intention of the United States Wildlife and Fisheries is to add Reticulated Pythons and the remaining Anacondas with consideration towards Boa Constrictors.

This is a final call to arms before things go beyond the point of no return.

In December of 2013 the United States Association of Reptile Keepers (USARK) filed a lawsuit against the USWF for using inaccurate and falsified scientific evidence to justify the addition of the four large constrictors to the Lacey Act. This is the Reptile Nation’s statement that they will not allow the injustices to stand or continue further.

USARK needs financial support from the reptile community to keep this moving forward. Legal battles like these are long and costly. This is your time to become part of something greater than yourself. This is your time to stand up and fight for your right to keep Boa Constrictors and other reptiles because if groups like the HSUS and the lobbyists in Congress supporting them are not stopped, there will be no reptile industry period. From the smallest gecko to the largest lizard, it will all be taken away.

This is not a scare tactic. This is the reality of the world we now live in.

1.00 or 100.00, everything counts and everything matters.

Let’s stand together and fight. Support USARK. Support your privileges. Fight for the animals you love.
